Pressure Mapping Test Results in Tilt-in-Space Recliner Chair with Standard Foam

Introducing the New Treat-Eezi Rise Recliner Chair Overlay designed to keep the patient who is sitting most of the day in a recliner-type chair safe from the highest category of pressure sores. Recliners came about by copying Tilt N Space Wheelchairs which are used to alter the pressure under the ischial bones by way of altering the position of the body whilst seated in a wheelchair. For those at risk of tissue damage, chair manufacturers decided it would be beneficial for users to have the same mechanism in an armchair, some went further by adding a standing position to aid the patient when getting up and some added backrest recline enabling the chair to go flat like a bed. I believe it true to say 100% of these chairs use foams as the materials for both back and base and in most cases, these are firm to the touch and then covered with different materials such as leatherette and cloth.

Sadly with more and more people becoming inactive, these chairs are in great demand, however, they do not offer the protection required to keep the user safe against pressure building up at the contact points which help with the shearing of the tissue taking over and the startup of grade 2, 3 and sometimes grade 4 pressure damage. There are now available various foam overlays from different companies that are placing their products onto these chairs and helping grade 1 and 2 pressure ulcers.

The Treat-Eezi (High Risk) Rise Recliner Chair Overlay goes further by using the layered Polyester 3 Way Weave Technology which envelopes the contact areas on the top layer and when movement occurs from the user the second, third and fourth layers start to glide against each other to halt the shearing of the tissue along with protecting the entire body by offering upwards pressures which in most cases are in the range of 28mmHg to 32mmHg (peripheral blood flow) hence keeping those peripheral arteries open and blood flowing freely. Prevention will always be a better option than curing so to be safe use the same technology in a Recliner chair as we do in a hospital/nursing home/home care bed, the New TEM60 Treat-Eezi is the ideal product for those looking at spending hours in a recliner and sometimes sleeping in the same chair.

    Dear Derek,

As promised, I'm writing to you to give you an idea how I have fared with your product.

I was given an air inflated mattress from my district nurse as I am suffering from MND and my skin was starting to go pink. The first time I used it my wife had to sleep on the sofa and I could not get any sleep because of constantly moving and the noise of the electric pump, it felt so uncomfortable. I started researching more friendly alternatives on the internet and thankfully found the Treat Eezi products.

I read a few testimonials from other customers and discovered how easy your product healed some nasty looking wounds. Because I had many questions, I phoned and you were very kind and explained things in an easy manner which I could fully understand.

I have now been using the full length version for 3 weeks now and can not only sleep well but my wife can sleep with me also, the redness has disappeared and I have no fear of pressure sores, thanks to using the product each evening. I was initially skeptical as the overlay appeared very thin but soon realized when I laid on it, it very slightly moved with me, stopping any dragging of my skin and kept my skin dry.

I wanted to say thanks Derek, I'm grateful for your product and I have already recommended Treat Eezi to my district nurse. Please feel free to place this testimonial on your site for others to read.

    Yours, Steve Gibson, London

With reference to our recent purchase of Treat-Eezi riser/recliner seat overlays. This product was searched for and found on the internet. We looked at a number of different options and settled on this one. Results appear to be very positive by allowing air to the relevant parts of the anatomy which suffer from bedsores.

Thank you so much for sending us the new recliner seat overlay.
We have all had a good look at it and have it fitted on one of our chairs for staff and visitors to try.

Feedback so far is that it is very comfortable and surprisingly non-slip, which is really helpful. We weren’t sure which way up to put it but chose to put it so that the label writing was upright as this also fitted well on the chair. When positioned the other way up there was excess fabric on the floor.
I will take it to the catalogue review group, we are also in touch with all the TV teams in the county and will share this info with them.

Thanks again for getting this to us so quickly.

Having purchased two, we purchased a third overlay for hygiene purposes.

The overlays are easy to launder and dry quickly. We would highly recommend them

The service offered by the company is very friendly and efficient.

    Many thanks all round

    Sincerely
