Description
Love your Bum!
Our now famous range of DebbonAir® motorcycle gel seats with covers are available in three sizes, Medium, Large and Extra Large.
This Deluxe range offers the flexibility of using the gel pad by itself for several different situations by simply unzipping the cover and removing the pad from your motorcycle. It’s ideal anywhere: in stadiums, on a theatre seat, or basically in any static situation on any hard surface. Many customers purchase extra covers to fit onto additional bikes and can transfer the pad onto whichever bike they use.
Our durable, hard-wearing cover allows added comfort so the rider can sink into unsurpassed quality. (Please note we do not recommend putting a gel without a cover on top of a seat. The cover houses the gel securely, stops it from undergoing excessive strains and stresses and ensures a long life).
Change your mind? If you decide your gel pad would be better suited under your seat upholstery you have the option of fitting the gel internally without the need for the cover. (Sample fitting Instructions are available on our gel pads for DIY page)
How to choose the appropriate size for your seat. (please compare measurements with your seat as we cannot be held responsible for customers purchasing the wrong size).
As a rule :
The Extra large is for the bigger touring bike (e.g. Fat Boy Harley Davidson) and larger customers requiring a longer, wider pad. (36 x 36cm approx) COVER OUT OF STOCK
The large size is most suitable for most motorcycles. (32 x 25cm approx)
The medium is most suitable for pillion seats or small sports bikes. (24 x 24cm approx)
Please note the small size is only available in the Gel only for DIY page and is not available with a cover.
Air cushions are considered high risk, are great for straight long-distance travelling but are prone to puncture (they can get snagged on buckles, studs etc) and aren’t as long-wearing as a gel.
Gel cushions are considered medium risk, are great for winding roads, are long life, require no maintenance & good for travelling shorter distances but hold the heat so aren’t fabulous in hot weather.
Air mesh cushions are considered low risk, good for a simple numb bum or medical issues (coccyx sensitivity/cancer etc), and great in the rain and heat.
Size is also important if you have any additional problems with your legs or back (go bigger!).
Last note of warning, not all gels are equal. Since our success we have seen a great many “gels” come on the market, lots that cannot hold the body weight, lots that aren’t anti-fungal, anti-bacterial or fire retardant so if you opt for gel – choose wisely.
We always recommend you take the seat measurements and compare them with our drawings to ascertain the most appropriate size. When doing so please note there are two types of pressure problems, the first being pain and discomfort from the backside (which starts from your Ischial tuberosities, the bony parts of your bottom) but there are secondary issues. If you experience tingling or aching legs it would be wise to pick a larger size so the gel can spill over the sides of the seat and cushion the groin area protecting your nerve endings and stopping blood vessels from being pinched.
Under normal circumstances, gel pads will increase your riding height by approx 1 cm only. The gel pad is an optimum 1.8cm thick allowing the bottom bones (ischial) to be immersed and enveloped. Gel less than our recommended thickness will cause the bottom bones to sink through the gel and hit the seat thus causing pressure build-up and discomfort (and isn’t that why you’re looking at gels for improved comfort!?) Likewise, gels over and above 2cm are a waste of time unless you are 40 stone plus, they are cumbersome and are much heavier in weight.
Info & Care
Once purchased the gel should give you years of service, even when cut it can be easily resealed.
DebbonAir Deluxe cover. The thick luxurious “Dry” Neoprene top is water repellent and any minimal surface water can be removed with a swipe of the hand. The base is non-slip rubber. As for the strapping, this is 1.5 metres of heavy-duty industrial Velcro for extra security. When using for the first time secure around the seat and cut any excess Velcro off. Wash by hand at 30 degrees and leave to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry or machine wash. (Include gel fitting instruction diagrams)
The gel pad. Do not wash. To clean: wipe with a wet cloth. If the pad is cut it can simply be resealed using standard sellotape or clingfilm. Store product flat.

Effective
Occasionally I get sciatica and sore lower back from a past accident. My motorbike is a Triumph Trident 660 and although it’s great on trips for up to 4 hours, anything longer affects my back/leg. I bought a large gel pad for this bike to allow me to ride my bike with more comfort. The gel pad is effective at minimising vibration through the seat from the road, and reduces my inclination to get sciatica and lower back pain. Thus a great purchase from my point of view. I also use the gel pad on the hard kitchen seat and the car! If there is one negative, on twisty roads the gel pad has a bit of ‘movement’ due to the nature of the gel, it just takes a bit of getting used to - however for long motorway rides it is not a problem and this is where the gel seat excels! Thanks.

What a lovely reply Lynne - made my day! OK, as I am clearly doing nothing much I'll tell you a little story..
I've been riding bikes since I was 7, having saved up for my first one since I was 4, so this is a life-long thing. I had a big smash back in 1986, the Friday before Christmas as I was on my way to pay the guys I employed their wages and bonus etc, so had a big wodge of cash in my front pocket.
A drunk driver (who actually worked for the police, but wasn't a policeman) turned straight into me, sending me flying into 5 cars before I hit the ground. The last car I hit turned out to be driven by a woman who worked at the paint shop I used, so knew me. She was on her way to a funeral, her car wouldn't start so she borrowed one from a friend, turned out she wasn't insured to drive it so she got fined, something I didn't know for a couple of years when I next went into the shop.
I spent one of the best Christmases ever - 8 blokes all with broken bones on a ward. None of us was ill, all full of morphine etc, friends coming in with curries (hence the email address..) and bottles of wine, beer, champagne etc. Nurses were having to be helped to the toilets or lifted off the floor as they were so drunk - it was memorable for some...
Anyway, I met a young student nurse and fell in love. I was in for a couple of months, but when I got out I took her to Tunisia for a belated Valentines day weekend and first date. I was on crutches with metal rods sticking out of my leg (external fixation) and got put on one of those buggies that go Beep Beep and get you to the front of the queue. As we were beeping along a tall gentleman came rushing up and pointed to my leg saying 'I recognize that, it's my work' He was my surgeon, who despite having already have 4 operations I'd never actually met (or didn't remember meeting) My little nurse was all red-faced and embarrassed. So, onto the plane, being treated like a lord, and being in my mid 20's and a builder, full of chat. Free wine, free nibbles, and first off once we had landed. Seemed that everyone on the plane knew about me by then.
We waited for our baggage. Took a while. I got tired so sat on the next carousel. Then, my carousel got turned on. My crutches were left behind and I couldn't get up off the belt. Thankfully someone pushed the emergency button just before I went through the black flaps. It caused much amusement and more embarrassment for Kate, my nurse. The holiday was wonderful - me on a wheelchair being bought drinks by all who were on the plane, Kate blaming the sun for her red face, and a few years later we got married, still are.
So, there you go, a little tale from one of your happy customers.
Have a good Monday Lynne,
Cheers
Steve

FYI - Debonair deluxe gel seat pad: Medium size fits a 2007 Fireblade pillion seat, so no more complaints from the "rear" - if you know what I mean. Ordered Monday, arrived Wednesday. I even sat on this myself and am thinking "oooh, very nice. I want one", so madam should be comfortable now. Simple to fit, just be sure to make the Velcro as tight as possible and you will need to cut off the excess straps as there is plenty to spare

Hi, my Treat Lite cushion arrived today and I'm super happy with it. It is thick and comfortable as expected but didn't realize I could machine wash it also! Win-win! Many thanks, I'm a happy chappy!

I ordered a gel seat pad which was very quickly delivered, unfortunately I didn't take note of the "if in doubt go bigger" guidance. After a call to Lynne I re-ordered the XL pad which was received next day, there was a manufacturing issue with the zip and once again after another call to Lynne I had a new cover delivered next day. I have since done an 800+ mile tour of the Scottish Highlands on my ST1300, the gel pad has made a vast difference in comfort making the whole trip a much more enjoyable experience.
Once attached (simple process using the velcro straps) it stayed firmly in place with no movement at all, the difference in seat height for me was negligible. I would highly recommend the company both for a 5 star product and their outstanding service. Thank you Lynn and all the team.

Subject: Photo update
Hi,I just used my gel pad on a tour around Spain, my mate was in agony on his scooter, while I hardly noticed the huge distances we were covering. Expect his order very shortly!
I’ve attached a nice photo which you are more than welcome to use for publicity if you wish to.
Kind regards,

I would like to thank your company for the super fast delivery of this product, the gel seat was placed over the pillion seat of my husband`s Triumph Rocket 111 motorbike and we travelled from Co. Down in Northern Ireland to Killarney ( 300 miles ) and back again. Can I just say that I was not in tremendous pain when we returned from our trip, this gel seat really works !!!, thank you so much !!.

To Lynne
The gel pad was purchased for a ride on mower, the particular mower I use has a seat very similar to a motorcycle.
Not sure how big a market you may have for tractors; the seats on modern tractors are very good. If you are doing a standard pad then the possibilities that come to mind from my experience of using machines over rough ground as well as mowers are dumpers. skip loaders & vibrating rollers. Not driven them myself but quad bikes may be another option for you.

Hi Lynne
Just wanted to give you feedback on the motorcycle gel pad I purchased from you recently. I've just covered 1400 miles in 4 days going to and from Scotland and have to say it was a much more pleasant ride than last time I did it, thanks to the gel pad! My KTM is renowned for having a hard seat (which it certainly has) and while I still got a numb bum I was managing to cover at least twice the distance previously achieved before the dreaded tingles really started, and even then it was nowhere near as bad as usual.
I would certainly recommend the pads to other riders who are either doing long distances or just want a much more comfortable ride generally. Money well spent!
Please feel free to use this as a testimonial,
Thanks again
Best regards
Phil Roper

Hi Lynne, Just a quick email to let you know that the gel pad arrived this afternoon [to my partners relief]. I thank you for your quick response. Also, I would like to say that the pad is a nice piece of kit that should save my partner getting numb bum syndrome [and me earache!]. Thanks again. Dave.
